Matilda Reid (b.2002) is an artist/photographer from Belfast, who lives and works between Glasgow and her hometown. Her projects often navigate the margins of presence and absence—unfinished building sites on New Mexican mesas, ghostly fragments from porn sites, and the overlooked labor of hotel cleaners. Reid’s work holds a charged stillness that transforms transient spaces into poetic, disquieting meditations on intimacy and distance.&#38;nbsp;


Reid moves between serigraphy, darkroom photography, video, and text, pulling from databases, archives, and daily life.

Other Openings&#38;nbsp;reframes the digital spaces of online pornography by turning the viewer’s gaze away from the explicit and toward the overlooked: the rooms' windows, and urban backdrops that exist at the edge of the main event. These spaces explore how private environments intersect with public visibility&#38;nbsp;

1. Three Acts of a Play I [ three jaquard weavings, mounted with metal (28cm x 15 cm) ]

3. Twenty Thousand Rooms with Action&#38;nbsp;[ 2 minutes, digital, silent, CRT display]
4. They made sure to leave the room clean and tidy&#38;nbsp; [ steel, acetate, sculpture]
5. Brief Glimpse of Visiting Briefly [ 30 ‘crops’ , images, inkjet,&#38;nbsp; (3cm x 2cm +-) ]&#38;nbsp;
6. The lights were left on&#38;nbsp;[ wooden box with peephole]
7. The Nightcrawler [ frosted glass, lightbox, (40 cm x 60 cm)]
